Please
Veto Condominium Association Bill S 314/H 407
+ S 902/H433
2.
REQUEST!
Dear
Governor Charlie
Crist, Dear Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp,
with
letters dating May 9, 2007 I had asked to please consider
vetoing bills S 314 and S 902/H433.
I know that quite a lot of members of different
organizations and many owners have e-mailed your office with the
same request.
Both
bills have been vetoed last year by Governor Bush -- only
insignificant changes were made this year!
Both
bills clearly violate private property rights!
I'm
amazed to read in today's Sarasota Herald Tribune the following
quote: "Crist spokeswoman Suzette Roblejo said the
governor had received only a handful of e-mails on the subject
by last week."
Everybody
knows that the community association bills need a serious
overhaul. There is no question about it! But
we need bills that help owners, already under siege by high
property insurance premiums and high property taxes.
Both bills
would further enhance the power grab of service providers and
greedy developers to the detriment of the owners!
Private property rights are supposedly the
foundation our nation is built upon!
So
please veto these bills and create a Task Force chaired by
owner-friendly legislators like Representative Julio Robaina to
overhaul the system! We need to stop the financial
mismanagement, uncontrolled spending and even clear embezzlement
in our communities! Even the AARP
acknowledges the desperate need for community association
reforms due to the fact that they received a multitude of
complaints from our elderly citizens suffering from abuses in
our communities!
We owners need help -- because we are being priced out
of our homes!
You, as our Governor, have the power and ability to
initiate the necessary changes!
Vetoing S314 and S 902 is the first important step in
the right direction!
Warm Regards,
Jan Bergemann, President
