A Villager is fighting to keep a Mermaid mural on her garage door after a complaint was lodged by a troll.

Erin Kellett lives in a new waterfront site-built home at 1012 Aloha Way on the Historic Side of The Villages. The full-time emergency room nurse moved in about a year ago.

The 67-year-old has had a crash course in deed compliance after an anonymous troll reported the mermaid painted on her garage door. A parrot fish is also painted on the door of her golf cart garage. Kellett said she had an artist paint the garage door murals.

The former Pennsylvania resident said she spent $4,500 on the murals. She said she wanted to give her “plain” home some “character.”

Kellett said she has been contacted by Community Standards about the violation. She has been studying her deed restrictions and said she plans to fight to keep the murals.
