Support for law enforcement officers is now proudly projected on a St. Johns
County home.
The house once displayed a "Blue Lives Matter" flag.
“It doesn’t seem to
quite be covered that a projector from a vehicle projecting
on your garage door is a violation of the HOA,” Jeff Gaddie
said.
He said the flag flew outside his daughter’s home in Samara
Lakes for years.
Gaddie tells Action News Jax that recently, the Homeowners
Association management company told his daughter to remove
the flag after a neighbor allegedly complained it was
racist.
“Although some people would like to think that it does, it
has nothing to do with that,” Gaddie said.
The neighborhood rules only allow American and military
flags, but Action News Jax found others on display. |

Neighborhood's HOA guidelines allow for images projected
on homes. Family is displaying flag on their garage every night.

Gaddie said his family has tried contacting First Coast Association Management,
which enforces those rules.
“So far, the board has not answered any phone calls, they don’t answer emails,
they haven’t responded to the appeal notice,” explains the former law
enforcement officer.
According to Gaddie, a representative from the company will be at a meeting
Wednesday night where his family will argue their case to the HOA.
“If it was something for some other non-important cause, it wouldn’t be an
issue, but something this important you almost have to,” Gaddie said.
Action News Jax has reached out to the company for comment and we have not yet
received a response. |
