MIAMI – Hazmat crews were called to the Deer Pointe Townhome Community in
Deerfield Beach after a bizarre chain of events.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office says it
started when they got a report of a woman spraying neighbors
with ammonia.
One victim had to be taken to the hospital. Then paramedics
had to transport a deputy overcome by fumes.
The woman accused of doing the spraying was detained.
At one point, deputies put a mesh hood over her for
restraint, before Baker acting her for mental health
evaluation.
“We think she has post-traumatic stress disorder from time
in the military,” said neighbor Nicholas Palladino.
Neighbors say tensions have been building between the woman
and the homeowners association for some time.

“She has problems, but they were provoking her,” said a
neighbor.
CBS4 tried to talk to the homeowners association president and a board
member but were told they would wait until the facts came out.
Some residents say the relationship between the board and homeowners is in a
downward slide.
