JUPITER -- A man upset that a Jupiter homeowners’ association had towed his truck was arrested last week after entering the group president’s home and threatening to retaliate, town police said.

John Whitelock Tellam of Miami faces charges of simple assault and burglary on an unoccupied structure in the incident, which took place Wednesday at the Coppola Villas on East Riverside Drive, north of the Loxahatchee River and west of U.S. 1.

Tellam was released Thursday from the Palm Beach County Jail after posting a $10,000 bond, jail records show.

According to a probable-cause affidavit made public last week, the association president told police the group had a blue Ford Explorer towed from a grass area at the complex where it had been illegally parked for two days. Multiple attempts were made to contact its owner, the president said.
