ANALYSIS OF BILL SB 1140

SB 1140 (SUMMARY): Mobile Homes

We should support this bill relating to Mobile Home Park Lot Tenancies. The bill revises the obligations and duties of the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, & Mobile Homes of DBPR. In addition, the bill includes revisions on mediation and mediator selection. The bill allows a park owner to petition the division to initiate mediation of a dispute. The bill also provides live-in health care aides must have ingress and egress entering and leaving the property.

The bill creates a new section 723.0611, entitled “Florida Mobile Home Relocation Corporation” to address voluntary closures of mobile home park, as well as relocation expenses, as well as the amount the park owner must pay the corporation.
