ON THE COMMONS:

with Margaret Bar-akiva

HOA CONFERENCE IN NEW JERSEY

You can listen and/or download the talk show "On The Commons" taped on Saturday, June 2, 2007. Talk show host Shu Bartholomew talks with Margaret Bar-akiva. Margaret, a plaintiff in the Twin Rivers case in New Jersey, and founding member of the New Jersey based Common-Interest Homeowners Coalition http://www.c- ihc.org/

They are talking about a HOA conference in New Jersey that was organized by the Rutgers School of Law (Newark), Seton Hall Law School, and Rutgers School of Law (Camden). Participating Organizations were ACLU of New Jersey, League of Women Voters, AARP, CIHC and New Jersey Appleseed.

This was a conference by homeowners for homeowners, without the participation of the CAI (Community Associations Institute), a trade-organization that is since many years pretending to represent homeowners. Homeowners finally need to represent themselves in order to get the flawed system of associations back on the right track!

It makes no sense that a group of service-providers is writing the laws we homeowners have to live by. Their only interest is to make more money -- money taken out of the pockets of the homeowners!

They are talking as well about the AARP Bill of Homeowners' Rights and the upcoming NJ Supreme Court decision in the TWIN RIVERS CASE

You'll hear a lot of very interesting information!
