You can listen and/or download the talk show "On The Commons" taped on Saturday, December 2, 2006. Talk show host Shu Bartholomew talks with Professor Marvin Nodiff.
Professor Nodiff is an adjunct professor of law at the Saint Louis University in Saint Louis,, Missouri. He has practiced law, representing associations, for 20 years, he is a charter member of the College of Community Association Lawyers, a member of the Community Association Institute, a presenter at numerous industry events and author of a mystery novel, Special Assessments. Shu Bartholomew and her guest talk about what happens when no one wants to serve on the board of their associations. We'll find out how common this problem is and we'll also find out what can be done about it.
In case you have any doubts what the service providers have in mind for our associations, please listen carefully. The service providers dream of getting ready to take over with paid managers – without board. Then we have finally corporations with a CEO running our homes and telling us what to do! Bye, bye property rights! I guess even George Orwell’s visions didn’t go far enough!
