Dear Florida Homeowner and Condo Owners;

I hope you and your families had a great Thanksgiving! Celebrations were a little limited but we all just had to make the best of it! The good news: Distribution of the vaccine is on the horizon -- meaning an end to the Chinese Virus Pandemic.

An attorney calling everybody and then some a racist is again playing the race card.Obviously his legal knowledge is pretty limited, otherwise he would know that CC&Rs of an HOA can seriously limit the constitutional right of free speech. Obviously he thinks he is the successor of Al Sharpton -- screaming makes everything right. It was not the flag the HOA was complaining about, it was the way it was displayed. But that obviously doesn't matter when playing the race-card.

In recent weeks I read about serious problems in the media and received e-mails from owners complaining about one management company: First Residential Service (former Continental). But what's new. They may have changed their name, but they obviously didn't change the way they operate. I still think that management companies should be responsible for their actions and not get away with the so-called Nuremberg Defense: THE BOARD TOLD US TO DO IT! It didn't work in Nuremberg, but it obviously works with the DBPR. And I understand why the attorney wanted to be quoted anonymously: He should have caught the fact that condos are not regulated by FS 720.

Experts are discussing a possible wave of foreclosures next year. I have to agree. The signs are all in favor of financial problems. A relief bill will not be forthcoming as long as Pelosi and the Dems are trying to bail out bankrupt cities under the cover of COVID -Relief. I don't think the election changed anybody's mind in Washington. Then add to it that the $15 minimum- wage bill passed here in Florida. TRat will add even more unemployed folks to the already long list. I lived in California when the government raised the minimum-wage by $2: Businesses let many people go -- especially in low-paying jobs -- and expected the "lucky ones" to pick up the workload of the folks they had to let go. And students had a hard time finding jobs. Is that what was intended when they put this amendment on the ballot?

This week we are blogging about "GIVING THANKS!" Is there a lot to be thankful for? I think it very much depends on your personal point. But always remember: Positive Thinking is good for your health. Please read my blog posted yesterday: "LOTS TO BE THANKFUL FOR?"

MASK FINE: Palmetto Place Condo Owner Fined $5100, She Says It’s Illegal
A Boca Raton Realtor who is selling her home in Palmetto Place — a large, upscale condominium building near Mizner Park — is fighting a $5100 fine she received for not wearing a mask in the building. Bobbi Engelke tells BocaNewsNow.com that the fine appeared on her estoppel statement which she just received as she prepares to sell her unit. The alleged violation occurred in late spring. “The condo association is doing all this contrary to the Florida statute, to the Governor’s executive order and to the Palm Beach County emergency order” Engelke told BocaNewsNow.com.

Homeowner sues over HOA’s order to remove BLM flag
Antoine Mickel has lived in his Arlington neighborhood near Kernan and Atlantic for over 20 years. It’s peaceful and each house has its own unique modern style. Some homeowners express their views through the flag that flies on their homes, so Mickel didn’t understand why he got a letter from his homeowners association more than a month ago telling him to remove his Black Lives Matter flag.

Foreclosure filings likely to hit Palm Beach County homeowners next year if unemployment persists, experts say

The phones aren’t ringing, foreclosure defense attorneys say. The mortgage defaults aren’t happening, analysts agree. But don’t get complacent, they warn. In a year, the pandemic-induced recession could lead to massive foreclosures in Palm Beach County.“Judgment day is coming,” said Gary Nagle, a Juno Beach lawyer and attorney for the Palm Beach Board of Realtors.

One man holds key to millions for residents of downtown high-rise condo

They nearly pulled it off. After four years of courtroom battles, three groups of long-warring players were ready to set aside their differences. Leisure Resorts, the longtime owner of the Palm Harbor Marina, which catered to some of the largest, most expensive yachts in the world, had been hamstrung by lawsuits for years and wanted peace. The city of West Palm Beach, which since the 1970s had leased the waterfront land for a 132-unit condominium tower and the marina, had been smarting from legal discoveries exposing past slip-ups and would be happy if its potential legal exposure would go away.

Jacksonville neighbors demand shutdown of 2 problem motels and more police
The signs were held high Monday morning by people demanding change on a short stretch of Harts Road that's seen seven fatal shootings at or near two motels this year, the latest one on Saturday. They joined City Council members and other community leaders in a new effort to close the Gold Rush Inn and River City Inn after that and other violence occurred at the gateway to their neighborhoods.

http://www.ccfj.net/HOAFLABDispute.html

The NFL is currently looking into a dispute involving Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown and his homeowners association that began back in August over a landscaping issue. Reports surfaced earlier in the week that Brown had allegedly destroyed a security camera and threw his bicycle at the security gate of his luxury development in Hollywood, Fla., in October after being asked to escort a guest inside.
