Honorable Legislators, Esteemed Friends
and Colleagues:
If you live in a condominium or home owners
association, you should attend a special gathering next Tuesday, February
10th at 10:00 AM. Have you ever heard of a condo
board member in Florida being convicted of embezzlement and going to jail
for it?
WHY
NOT?
Hi, my name is Eddie Hernandez, and I am
writing on behalf of the 282 unit owner victims of Grand Vista Condominium
Association in Hialeah Gardens, Florida requesting your personal presence
this Tuesday, February 10th at 10:00 AM, at what may very well be a special
day for all condominium and HOA owners in Miami-Dade County. After
nearly three years of hearing about our complaints, the State Attorney
has finally opened a case and is investigating the former board of directors
of our condominium for allegations of embezzlement and other criminal activity
that has left our association in a serious financial situation after more
than $360,000 mysteriously vanished from our reserve funds!
If you live in a condominium or deed restricted
home, you probably are aware of the problems and how little help you get
from law enforcement when you report it. Why is it so easy for an
abusive board member in Florida to take your money or clean you of your
savings and even foreclose on your home? An elderly woman in Broward
lost her home to a foreclosure because she owed four cents. How can
this happen in this country? There are many horror stories like this
one and for so many years nothing could be done to stop this abuse.
Until Now! Unit owners at Grand Vista have a horror story of their
own that they're willing to share with the rest of the world, as we discovered
the hard way what is perhaps the biggest legislative fraud the state of
Florida could ever have.
Did you know that in Florida reporting
your board members to the authorities and enforcement agencies could end
up costing you personally hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines?
Florida laws say that it is the unit owners and not the board members that
are fined and penalized. Just a couple months ago, unit owners of
Grand Vista were fined by the Division of Business and Professional Regulation
over $50,000 after the division investigated and found that their former
board members had been repeatedly violating the laws. You could be
fined too! Make sure you help your legislators do what is right in
order to PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY FROM ABUSIVE ASSOCIATIONS by lending your
voice and presence this Tuesday.
Please join the hundreds of unit owners
of Grand Vista that will be meeting to present their case with the Chief
of Economics Crime Unit, Frederic Kerstein this Tuesday,
February 10th at 10:00 AM at: 1350 NW 12th Avenue, Miami, Florida.
