Major work is being done to revive the facades of a prominent condominium on Midtown Beach.

In early November, crew members from Carousel Development & Restoration, Inc. worked throughout the Winthrop House condominiums, some pouring concrete at the building's porte-cochère all while others worked to repair, waterproof and paint the building's facades.

Built in 1969, the building at 100 Worth Ave. is undergoing work that includes updating the building's style to an Art Deco-influenced look while also fixing deteriorated concrete walls, balconies, railings and other problems. Notably, the new look replaces the building's red brick panels with a white streamlined element.

The renovations, approved by the Architectural Commission back in October 2023, are expected to be completed by the next season.

The project recently received the Town Council's approval to extend its right-of-way permit to allow workers to use the sidewalk on South Ocean Boulevard to move equipment to and from the building. The approval also allows for quiet work on Saturdays, a request a project representative said was made to speed up the completion of the building's vehicular entrance.
