TALLAHASSEE – A new Florida bill filed last week is pushing to add more responsibilities to mobile home park owners in the state.

The legislation — SENATE BILL 652 — was initially filed by state Sen. Mack Bernard (D-West Palm Beach) on Friday.

SB 652 aims to revise the obligations of mobile home park owners under state law, adding in the following provisions for owners to follow:

  • Require mobile home owners to keep a registration sticker on their homes at all times

  • Maintain up-to-date records about each homeowner in the park

  • Provide those records to local code enforcement upon request to help enforce a homeowner’s general obligations under state law

  • Require each homeowner to maintain his/her mobile home and its lot in accordance with all applicable codes

  • Require other people on these premises, with the homeowner’s consent, to comply with these codes
