Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed two bills into law last week meant to help condo owners bear a financial burden.

The building safety laws passed after the Surfside collapse four years ago this week upended plans and budgets for countless condo owners, especially in older buildings.

The new laws that go into effect Tuesday address that and a roster of association rules.

Florida Rep. Vicki Lopez, a Republican from District 113 in Miami, was one of the sponsors, and she joined “This Week in South Florida” host Glenna Milberg to discuss.
